We visited the Paleontological Museum,Carbonia
The PAS-MARTEL Museum comes from the need to transfer the scientic knowledge on ancient geological environments of the Sulcis area t o a wide public.
The main goals are to awake visitors about geological history of the area, preserve the geo-palaeontological heritage and to interact with schools. The main theme concerns bio and geo events recorded on the rocks cropping-out in SW Sardinia, with peculiar attention to fossils contained in them.
The palaeobiodiversity section houses part of the collection of the ancient E.A.Martel Museum and consists of a panoramic view on ancient organisms, as documented by specimens coming from different parts of the world.
The “mass extinction and dinosaurs section” represents an interval that introduces to a very popular event.
